A Slash Of Red, Azure, & Green

A lofty wind passes out of sight
Like lonely strangers in the night
To hear the echoed babbling brook
Enticed within this havens nook

Nocturnal be thy stars in flight
Beacons of the celestial night
Where leaves rustle endlessly
Persisted by the rustling breeze

A redwood governed proud and tall
Among the sprawl where old leaves fall

And from the shadowed canopy
Saplings reached towards the sky
Awaiting in the lofty high

Rotten were the frayed and worn
Battlement the bitter torn
Sediment drifted slowly by
Upon the sheltered river shy

Enticed beside the babbling brook
And yet there was a gentle look
A slash of red, azure, and green
Among the haven, earthly scene

Speckled by thy rustic land
There is beauty understand
Hallowed be my own retreat
Scutum of thy place I keep
