Avalon
In twilight, passing clouds give place
To the mysterious veil of Christ's true face
Beside the river of Avalon, evergreens sway
Beneath the waxing moon,
Where leaves tremble upon the way
Resemble now the mother rhyme
Vested love within this sacred heart of mine
In a higher place, through which heavens light is shed
Why are these etchings written upon my head?
Interlace my thoughts betray me, as lay here in this waste
Foreign, thoughts and foreign feelings, I grin to bear
Angelic realms, I know and understand that you are there
I have no grudge to bear within your lands
I lay down my weapons and extend thy hand
Virtues lose their values within these feelings
Beyond my king and country, there is no meaning
I understand and hope to see
That faith is bound and life will be
