Beneath The Sunken Grey
A rattling of the window
Amongst the howling and bellowing
Rustling of the leaves outside
As they take a thrashing in the night
The pitapat, tap of nature's tears
Tapping at the windowpane
Beneath the rhythmic beat
That sounds just like
A million dancing feet
As the rain falls, on the tin roof overhead
As I lay there in my bed
The frivolous flurry of endless flight
Beneath the sky on this darkened night
As mother earth trembles with the fear
Mother knows that thunders near
Amidst the sound of heaven tears
I'm in awe of this awesome sight
As the storm passes over head
In the still of night
