Besieged By Faith

Besieged by faith
Belittled by fire
Take heed of a message
Etched on the surface
Of the temple walls

By quivering fire
The foul bones mends
Cast doubt from the shadows
By beat of the rhythmic hymn
With the first grains of sand

Take comfort by the seed of the sacred flame
And may the foul bones of vanity mend
With the passing of rain
