By My Own Merit
By my own merit am I worthy of these worldly pleasures
Leisure waits in anticipation before the call of celebration
Due to the commemoration of my own charisma
Influenced by other people, coiled before the naked flame
Set aside by no other name
This is the sight before my eyes
Carnation lined to mark the way
Saved for us by yet another day
Conceived say I, in my duress
A thread of linen that lined her dress
One defined to look their best, but is this approach
A humble test set aside by circumstance
As we follow like we're ants
Is there decadence in our dance
Save for us another chance
