Casualties Of War

A land caught in turmoil
Trapped in the ravages of war
A city under siege
As the enemy come to call

Buildings turn to rubble
As the bombers hit there mark
The people flee their homes
As their dreams are blown apart

A landscape that was once beauty
Is now black and charred
The river that was once so clean
Is now dirty all filled with debris

A child's body lies
Rotting in the way
His dreams and aspirations
Have been blown away

The world would be a place of beauty
If we didn't have these wars
