If I

If I looked upon the horizon
As the sun was sure to rise
Would the essence of its light?
Colorize my life

If I climbed the highest mountain
And soared above the clouds
Would I walk upon the heavens?
With the gift of angel wings

Would I find shelter?
From the storm and the driving rains
If I walked upon the water
As the waves came rolling in
Would it wash away my sins?
As the emotion came rolling in

Would the reflections of my thoughts
Colorize my life
Or would I have to wait
Till I reached the gates of heaven
To live upon the other side
