It's Been A Year Since You Went Away

It's been a year since the day that you left us and
Still my heart loves you just same
Tears run down my face as I look at the place
Where we left your essence upon that final day
As the tears mark your resting place

The heavens welcome you with open arms
And with the light of our love your memory
Remains the same as it was to us just yesterday
For you were the light of our love and the soul of my heart
It tore me apart the day you went away

As I sit and wonder how it would have been
If you were in my arms as I held you so tight
Would your love for us be the light of stars
As they shine throughout the night

Would your smile be the light of my soul
No matter were you are you will always
Live in the light of my heart
For the love that I hold for you Sarah
Will be the beacon when I'm alone in the dark
