Lay Me Down In Greener Pastures

False clad clay in disarray perhaps you'll find in my display among the stars beneath the moon in the distance a planet looms

Lay Me Down In Greener Pastures

False clad clay in disarray
Perhaps you’ll find in my display

Among the stars beneath the moon
In the distance a planet looms

Speckled stars in distant flight
And there they wait in eternal night
Save for this, my gentle light
At least I know my nurtured plight

Said in form and without shape
Alas to know the hand of fate
To contemplate before my plate
Where now I lay and here I wait

Among the meadows in their bloom
Beneath the clouds amongst the gloom

Lay me down in greener pastures
Here and now and in the here after
Remember me in fits of laughter
