Sonnet: Misery Be
Mercy me and misery be
Mortal thoughts betray me
Thou hand is shaking in front of thee
Maybe in this hour, I sense your plea
And slowly I begin to understand
Shadows cast upon the shadowed hearts
For here I wait beside the sand
Where once was life, now tears depart
Crewless ships litter the shore
Where waves rock gently by the sea
Where I now stand and wait in awe
Where have thou gone to flee the sea
Thou have known thy humble test
That life hands down before the rest
