Mountain Rangers Part 1 - The Tragedy

In the new Zealand Highland
The mountain ranger's children played
Laughing and joking playing children's games
They had just finished swimming in the mountain stream that day
Riding home by horse back they came to the top of the mountain

Then suddenly the wild stallion came from nowhere
Startling the children's horses as the wild stallion played

The rangers son's horse took off for the cliff face
Running like he had never run before
The young boy tried to stop him but
He could not hold the reins
He fell over the cliff face as his horse
Changed direction and headed of the other way

But by the time the mountain ranger
Arrived on the scene it was all to late for
The little boy had died

With tears running down his face
The mountain ranger gave his word
I swear my son I will avenge your death
