Like Gentle Rain
Long have I waited beside still waters
Withered by the years, the silent tears
Fall like gentle raindrops amid the summer sun
Hollowed how am I humbled
Weathered by storm
No Meade to mend
No bow to bend
On barren soil I stand barefoot
How small am I beneath the sky
Sometimes I think, but to wonder why
My withered hand before my eyes
My tired limbs and withered bones
No place to rest to call my own
For long are the days and cold are the nights
Beneath the seed of these city lights
Like gentle rain, a simple man
Within my wake, for here I stand
As the crimson leaves of bottle brown
Fall around me upon the ground

Colours of the Heart
Burn
If I sparked the fire that burns
Deep within my heart and soul
Would the reflection of my light
Glisten in my eyes
If I cast a shadow over the bay
As the day light slipped away
Would you feel the sadness of my tears?
Would you understand the heartache and the pain?
For if I burned just like a candle
In the middle of the night
Would the essence of my flame
Shine across the heavens?
Would I be the only light?
I will burn for you
In the middle of the night
I will be there to hold you
Till the early morning light

Theatre Of The Mind
The Seeds Of Change
An endless ocean shimmers out beyond the bay
Is there light over the horizon
Beneath the pale moonlit skies tonight?
Do our hearts remain the same?
Or are we the seeds of change?
Do we give in to the seeds of sin?
That gather out upon the winds
For if we look to the horizon
Where the sun is sure to rise
Would the future be in the distance?
Beneath the moonlit skies tonight
Would our hearts glisten like the stars?
That shine above us in the heavenly skies tonight
Would we ever be open to the power that is love?
For if we look to the horizon
As the winds come blowing in
Will we find a new direction?
Would we know where to begin?

Faded Words Among the Footprints
Mystic beneath the moonlight beckons
Forever humbled at my feet
The shooting star that rises in the heavens
To only fall upon the light of flint and bone
To break away the burdens of the flesh
Within the light of Heaven's soul
Am I forever humbled by the swaying in the breeze
As the lonesome traveller
Comes to pass amongst us in the trees?
For now the light has faded
Beneath the beat of Heaven's wings
The sound of angels singing
Within the depths of my very heart
As the tears fall from the heavens
Will my soul be swept away?
In the distance there's a beacon
That lights the passage of my way
Only in the shadow shall I wait
For the light of the rising day
Swept away by life's sweet sorrow
Beneath the light of Heaven cleft
Where I wait within the light of gentle slumber
Where the footprints leave no mark
Be still my beating heart for I am forever humbled
By the light within my soul

The Best Poems And Poets
Will We Ever
If we strip away the layers of illusion
What is left behind?
The sandy shores, the wooden floors
A pocket watch found waiting on a dime
Will we ever find the way
Living life every day
Listening to the faded calls
Will the towers fall
If we turn and walk away
For the fireflies shall glisten
Beneath the stars tonight
As I walk along beside the evening tide
Will the essence of my heart
Be the guiding light that shines
Take the time to live for the moment
Not just day to day
For the light of the day will always fade
As the sun slowly sinks away
