Resilient As We Are

Can I escape the dogma of my own existence?
To witness the end of procrastination
Against the underprivileged in this world
Resilient as I am, I long to understand
The nature of their plight

Undisturbed the rambling of my subconscious mind
Merge with my conscious to only emulate the seeded thought
Variable changes can only make things better

Prophets may say that all is for the best
But does that make the future any clearer
In a world riddled with unscrupulous beliefs

Amongst the four corners of the globe
Hope springs forth eternal within their hearts
Idealistic to some, surreal to others
But significant none the less

Seemingly unspeakable the helter-skelter of our race
Demonstrated in our diplomacy
But then the look is written on their face
Disgraced buy our dishonour should we hide away in shame
From those who in darkness are belittled by the pain
