Shall It Be As It Was Back Then

Today the world is ever changing
And life is in need of rearranging
Reflections mirror in my thoughts
And there are lessons I have taught

Never the twain and not in vain
And there are times I could have changed
Seldom is it said in part
And there are moments in my heart

Shall it be as it was back then?
And is there time to change
To be honest what is truly lost
And have we ever felt the cost

Twice the heart has yearned
Beside the quiet fire burns
And you have felt my gentle touch

For love has never known
The gentleness of my loving hand
And there are times that I'm alone
And I have hoped you'll understand

Some might say the day is gray
And there are feeling I display
Sonnets sound the summerset song
And there are times that I am strong

For there are times that I am smitten
And there are times that thou, has written
