Shall We Lay The Path

Shall we lay the path and light the candle
To light the way into our souls
Would the essence of our hearts be enough?
To make us all feel whole

Would the depths of our feelings
Light the fires that burn deep within
And let you know that you were alive
Would you be bound by your thoughts?
To the quiet place that hides inside

For the essence of our souls
Will be the light that shows us all the way
And we will carry it with us always
As we move forward in our lives

For we are the light of a candle
As it burns throughout the night
And are we the stars as they glisten upon the heavens
In the stillness of the night
For are we all lost in the darkness?
Or do we walk within the light
