Some People
I remember when I was nine years old
My imagination was sparked when the circus came into town
There was a little boy running, there were children saying
Did you think I could fly and if I could
Would I touch the sky
Heaven spent by the pouring rains,
If whispered in the woods would hear my name
For there's a new day coming, do you feel it coming
Can you feel it humming
Some would say that best laid plans
Are the selfish actions of a foolish man
If you strip away the layers that have made us whole
Would you stand there is the silence by the light of your soul
Some people would say if we had known the cost
Then we wouldn't have to sacrificed the innocent lost
For if we look upon the stars in the evening sky
Would you ask yourself the reasons why
