The Poet

The poet sits at a chair and table
Preparing to tell his tale
With pen and paper in his hands
He forms an idea and starts the plan

He starts to write
But then he stops
To check his thesaurus to find
The right lyric rhyme for the next line

Then he reads to check it rhymes
if it's good he'll keep that line
But if it's wrong he'll cross it out
Then start to find the right lyric rhyme

And at the end if he doesn't like
It goes into the waste bin by his side
Then back to the start to try again
To tell the tale of his rhyme

And at the end when all is done
He puts the pen down and reads again
If it's right it's a job well done
The poets words have come to life
