The Poet's Heart

The poet's heart that laid the fable
Was heard by souls from many stables
Vested was thy lover's heart
Where once was joy now tears depart

I heard your tears and felt your pain
While listening to the falling rain
By fabled pens you touched my heart
And your words were heard, and heard by many

The heartache shared, showed how much you really cared
And that you had faith to dare
Believer of benevolent words
We all listen and you were heard

Frightened as you have become
You never were the only one
What comfort comes forth by feelings shared
Express the way that we all cared

One mans burden is another mans plight
We shared our wills and held the right
And are never alone within the night
I hold you dear, even though you are hidden from sight
