We Are Bound For Better Days

Amidst the sea of masquerade
False creed gave way to my parade
And I was held with gentler hands
Before the gathering of fellow man

Beseech the brimstone of desire
Beside the warmth of the open fire
Beneath the heavens beside the creek
For I am humbled and so meek

For there is warmth in my embrace
And there is food, set before this place
And we are not bound in our hast
Nor shall we wither in this place

And we are bound for better days
Beneath the light of heavens rays

And in my heart I know so well
There is the hope that all can tell
And love has never left my heart
Even when I was lost and torn apart

For love I've known and held you tight
Beneath the stars in gentle light
And we are bound for better days
Beneath the light of heavens rays
