Lonely Strangers, Long To Be

White wash settled on the rocks As the clouds gathered in their flocks Soft pastels hang among the hue A silhouette of pale-lit blue

Lonely Strangers, Long To Be

Sumner

White wash settled on the rocks
As the clouds gathered in their flocks
Soft pastels hang among the hue
A silhouette of pale-lit blue

Light clouds mingled out to sea
Shadows of what could have been
Tidal ripples in the sea
Beckon thoughts from within me

Lonely strangers, long to be
Together in their company
Sea gulls gather in the wind
Await the dawn that’s sleeping in

Twine, my heart in sympathy
To understand my empathy

What reflections cast in clay
Could comprehend the hope of day
Await the dawn of distant light
To cast this shadow from my sight
