Sheltered Shadows
![]()
Shadows cast across the land
The morning rise is close at hand
Whispers of the ocean roar
Upon the waiting resting shore
A silhouette of cloud drifts by
Towards the sun that is to rise
A hint of peach caresses in
And they’re no signs of tidal winds
The shifting sand among the rocks
As the sea and land are interlocked
Intertwine within my thoughts
Are the things that I was taught
No two sunrises are the same
Nor should we hold are heads in vain
Cast the shadows from my heart
Within the clouds that slowly part
Waiting for the morning sun
Contemplating thoughts, as they come
Sheltered shadows show no fears
The dawning, dawn will soon be here
