Sumner

Sombre mourn beneath the hue
Sky clad clouds the palest blue
Along the basin the birds did flock
While I watched from wonder rock

Pastel coloured clouds hang high
Wading in the southern sky
A silent mist hangs above the bay
Beneath the sky of sunken grey

Beside the etchings of the rocks
Birds by the feathers as they flock
Sea birds gathered at the tidal rim
Teaming with life among the brim

The white wash sands of turtle rock
Among the haven, gathers flocks
Sea gulls gather on the winds
The tidal serge awaits therein

As the sea swept my hand
A promise made before the land
Cast the shadows from my plight
Beautiful place within sight
